By providing your approval, in any form, you confirm your acceptance of the current terms and conditions available on our website.
Service Description: Our Annual Treatment Programme features scheduled applications of fertiliser, weed control, and moss control to improve the appearance and health of your lawn. We may also recommend optional services such as scarification, aeration, over-seeding, and top dressing as needed.
Service Schedule: Services will be delivered on a seasonal basis, as outlined in the proposal provided in writing (via email) by The Turf Smurf Ltd to the customer.
Lawn Treatment Programme Overview: Our comprehensive Lawn Treatment Programme is designed to enhance the quality and appearance of your existing lawn. By utilising premium quality industry products and expert techniques, our goal is to foster a lush, healthy, and resilient lawn throughout the year.
Seasonal Treatments: Our seasonal treatments are meticulously planned to address the specific needs of your lawn at different times of the year. These treatments include scheduled applications of fertiliser, weed control, and moss control, tailored to the unique requirements of each season. Additionally, optional services such as scarification, aeration, over-seeding, and top dressing may be recommended to further enhance lawn health and appearance.
Collaboration with our Customers: It’s important to understand that our Lawn Treatment Programme is designed to work hand-in-hand with your efforts in mowing, watering, and general lawn care. While our treatments play a crucial role in improving the condition of your lawn, the best results are achieved when combined with proper lawn maintenance by the homeowner.
Watering Instructions: Customers must follow any watering instructions provided after treatment. These instructions can be found in your post-visit lawn report.
Managing Expectations: There is sometimes a misconception that starting a fertiliser and weed control programme will result in an overnight transformation of your lawn. However, this is not the case. Achieving a beautiful, healthy lawn is a gradual process that requires ongoing effort and care. Our contribution to your lawn's condition is only half of the work required. Your commitment to regular mowing, watering, and following our care instructions is equally essential to ensure the best possible outcome.
Adjustments or Cancellations: Adjustments or cancellations to the 5-treatment/visit plan and visit frequency may necessitate a re-evaluation of the original quoted price.
Commitment to Excellence: We are dedicated to providing the highest professional standards and results that meet your expectations. By working together and adhering to our recommended practices, you can enjoy a thriving lawn that enhances the beauty and value of your property.
Pricing and Continuation: Prices are based on a minimum of five visits annually, spaced every 10-12 weeks, depending on seasonal and weather conditions. These treatments will continue until either party terminates them. You have the flexibility to cancel at any time, without any binding contract or obligation. Any payment plans will be reviewed to determine any credit owed or balance due, based on the treatments received and payments made. Charges or refunds will be processed accordingly.
Payment: The "Customer" agrees to make payment for our annual treatment programme through twelve (12) equal monthly payments via direct debit, set up upon quote approval using our trusted payment provider, Jobber payments. https://stripe.com/en-ca/privacy
Property access: Customers must ensure clear and safe access to the lawn(s) on the scheduled service date. Please follow our pre-service instructions, which include mowing the lawn two days before our visit and keeping it free of leaves, pet fouling, and debris. Customers do not need to be present on the day of our visit if access is provided. After each visit, you will receive a comprehensive lawn report. If access is not provided due to locked garden gates, lack of access instructions, or if the lawns are too long to treat or are covered in pet fouling, debris, or leaves, a non-service notification will be issued, and a rescheduling charge equivalent to 50% of the service cost will apply.
Mechanical/cultural treatments: We may recommend and provide quotes for additional optional services, such as scarification & aeration works, when they would be beneficial to your lawn. You are under no obligation to accept these quotes; however, please note that declining them may limit the improvement of your lawn.
Lawn Reset/Renovation Disclaimer: To achieve the best possible outcome from our lawn renovation services, it is essential that customers adhere to the following responsibilities:
1. Pre-Service Preparation: o Ensure all lawn areas are free of leaves, debris, pet fouling, and any obstacles that may hinder the renovation process. o Mow the lawn to a recommended height of 1.5-2 inches two days before our scheduled visit. (Short as possible) o Clearly mark any underground utilities, sprinkler heads, and other lawn features that need to be avoided during the renovation.
2. Watering Guidelines: Initial Watering: Water the lawn immediately after the renovation process to help settle the soil and activate the new seeds.
Daily Watering (First 2 Weeks): Keep the soil consistently moist by watering lightly two to three times a day. Aim for a total of about 1/4 inch of water per day, ensuring the top 1-2 inches of soil remains damp.
Transition Period (Weeks 3-4): Gradually reduce the frequency of watering to once a day but increase the amount of water to about 1/2 inch per day. This encourages deeper root growth.
Established Growth (Weeks 5-6): Water more deeply and less frequently. Aim for 1-1.5 inches of water per week, applied in 1-2 sessions. This helps promote a strong, deep root system.
General Tips:
A. Water early in the morning to reduce evaporation and ensure the grass has time to dry before evening, which helps prevent disease.
B. Adjust watering based on weather conditions. Increase watering during hot, dry periods, and decrease it during cooler, wetter periods.
C. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to fungal issues and shallow root growth. The soil should be moist, not soggy.
3. Lawn Access: o Keep pets and children away from the treated areas until the lawn is fully established.
4. Post Renovation Care: o Adhere to our recommended mowing schedule, avoiding mowing for at least two – three weeks after the renovation. o Address any issues or concerns promptly by contacting us asap. Email: [email protected] o Monitor the lawn for signs of wildlife interference, such as birds or rodents stealing seeds. Taking steps to deter wildlife, if needed, will help ensure successful germination. o Applying additional seed is a standard part of the renovation process to ensure optimal lawn coverage. However, revisits to apply extra grass seed due to wildlife disturbance, overwatering, or underwatering that has displaced or affected the seed will incur additional charges. o Understand that grass seed does not all germinate at the same time due to varying depths and temperatures. Consequently, a patchy appearance is normal during the early stages of growth.
5. Weather Conditions: o Understand that adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain, drought, or extreme temperatures, can impact the renovation process and outcomes. These factors are beyond our control, and any necessary remedial work will incur additional charges. o Be prepared to adjust post-service care and maintenance based on weather conditions as advised by our team. o During the autumn, fallen leaves MUST be regularly cleared ideally using a mechanical leaf blower. If you are unable to manage this, please arrange regular leaf clearing appointments with us until leaf fall has finished.
6. Communication: o Maintain open communication with us regarding any changes in schedule, access issues, or specific lawn care concerns. o Report any issues or unusual observations promptly to ensure timely intervention and resolution. Email: [email protected]
Liability: While we take every precaution to prevent property damage, we are not liable for any damage resulting from natural or preventable occurrences (e.g., drought, frost, insufficient watering after fertiliser application, pets, wildlife, waterlogging, or any other unforeseen circumstances). We are not liable for damage to underground services less than 180mm deep, including, but not limited to, broadband wires, irrigation pipes, sprinkler heads, electric cables, drainage pipes, and robotic mower wires. It is essential that such services are clearly marked before we carry out any mechanical work.
Responsibilities: The lawn owner is responsible for ensuring the lawn is adequately watered and maintained according to our recommendations. We cannot be held liable for issues that arise between visits, including but not limited to, irrigation problems, pest and pet damage, footfall damage, leaf accumulation, improper mowing practices, or the DIY application of additional products.

Satisfaction: We commit to maintaining the highest professional standards to meet your expectations. However, certain factors beyond our control, such as weather conditions, pests, treatments by third parties, poor subsoil, improper mowing practices, dehydration, damage, and pet activity, may impact the results.
Waste Disposal: We are licensed green waste carriers, and disposal costs will be passed on to the customer. If you prefer, we can leave green waste on site in bags or designated bins, as agreed on the day of renovation.
Health and Safety: Our team adheres to strict health and safety protocols during lawn treatments. Please ensure pets and children are kept indoors during our visit. If you have any safety concerns regarding the products used, please contact us in advance.
Data Protection and Privacy: We are committed to protecting your privacy and comply with applicable data protection laws. We will not sell, distribute, or lease your personal information to third parties without your permission unless required by law.
Changes to Terms and Conditions: We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will be posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the new terms.
