The Turf Smurf is an independent, quality over quantity business! We provide specialist value for money Lawn Care and Lawn Treatment services including scarifying, aeration, fertiliser application, weed & pest controls, and effective moss treatments.

We are qualified to apply long-lasting fertilisers and effective weed control products that are not available to the amateur gardener to control moss and weeds.

The Turf Smurf operates throughout Brighton and Hove including Portslade, Southwick & Shoreham-by-Sea. Our service also extends to Steyning & Henfield.

Owners Story..

Since leaving school I worked at a local plant nursery for 5 years where I built up a comprehensive plant-based knowledge, worked abroad in quality control selecting stock, and gained an intensive introduction into plant propagation and disease control.

I moved from here as a sub-contractor to a gardening business in Ashington, West Sussex where I was responsible for the lawn care with their existing customer base. During the time I was with them I developed additional lawn care clientele. I worked there for 3 years.

At the age of 24 I decided to set up on my own but focus on a specific aspect of horticulture that I have the most interest in and love, lawn care!

I went on to study at Plumpton college where I gained the qualifications needed that enabled me to start The Turf Smurf. I am PA1 / PA6 Qualified in the safe use of pesticides and have been further trained by an industry-leading expert. Over the past 5 years, we have grown from having a small lawn mowing round to a forever growing lawn treatment business with over 200 local clients within Brighton & Hove. As a business, we are now an active member of the UK Lawn Care Association and have furthered our skills and expertise with additional training and certification within the industry.
