Spring lawn treatment - T2
WHAT IS OUR SPRING lawn TREATMENT?
Our spring lawn treatment is made up of organic matter content and a low carbon-to-nitrogen ratio that promotes stimulation of essential soil microorganisms which further support efficient plant metabolic function and a diverse soil ecosystem.
The result following this lawn treatment is a sward with firm, shorter leaf blades brought about by the increase in tillering and improvement in leaf cell structure, it increases the number of grass leaves per square meter and the turf will lose less of its mass through mowing because the leaves tend to be short and stout rather than long and weak.
The organic matter content in our Spring lawn treatment sets us apart from the competition. Providing a gradual release of nutrients after application, that stimulates a bacterial dominated soil.
Also included in this treatment is the season's first application of selective weed control. A selective weed killer is a type of herbicide that targets specific types of weeds without harming the surrounding grass. These herbicides typically contain active ingredients that are selective in their action, meaning they only affect certain types of plants. For example, some selective weed killers are designed to control broadleaf weeds, such as dandelions and clover, without harming grass plants.
The reason why we apply the weed control in the spring is simply that this is when the weeds are actively growing, and this will help ensure that the herbicide applied is absorbed through the leaf and is effective.
To summarise -
Spring lawn fertilising is the practice of applying a fertiliser to your lawn in the spring to help it recover from the cold winter months and prepare for the growing season.
Spring is typically a good time to fertilise your lawn because the soil is beginning to warm up and the grass is starting to actively grow again.
Fertilising in the spring will help your grass develop strong roots, which are essential for healthy growth and the ability to withstand heat and drought.
Additionally, spring fertilising will help promote the development of new shoots and leaves, which will help improve the overall appearance of your lawn.
